The Rehla Academy (TRA) Preschool

THE REHLA ACADEMY (TRA) PRESCHOOL

The TRA Preschool Program, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. The program is divided into three key stages: Playgroup, Kindergarten 1 (KG1), and Kindergarten 2 (KG2), each tailored to the developmental needs of specific age groups.

Education in the early years is vitally important for the children to acquire basic skills. It is important that foundations are laid on which future learning can take place. If children are well motivated, enthusiastic, interested and happy then they learn more effectively. We aim to develop these skills in a creative, imaginative and original way. The children need to learn in an atmosphere where they are not afraid to make mistakes and this in turn becomes an important part of the learning process. Each child will be encouraged to reach their highest potential and motivated to want to continue learning.

Here at TRA, we understand the importance of play in the early years. We believe that play is essential for physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development of each child and we are committed to ensuring quality play opportunities are available to all our children.

The Early Years Foundation Stage program provides specific learning areas:
  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
The children are guided by their teachers where the focus of their activities is upon:
  • Playing and explorin
  • Active learning
  • Creating and thinking critically
Children are encouraged to:
  • Think outside the box.
  • Be involved and to concentrate.
  • Be creative.
  • Be adventurous.

Opportunities for active learning through exploration, investigation and discovery involving all the senses, for working with sand, water, paint, modelling, role play, outdoor play, counting, ordering, building, looking, listening, talking, sharing, taking turns, occur every day.

Playgroup: Age Requirement: 3 Years Old

The Playgroup stage focuses on creating a safe and engaging environment for the youngest learners. At this age, children are introduced to the school setting through activities that emphasize play-based learning. The curriculum aims to develop social skills, basic motor abilities and early language and cognitive skills. Activities include Sensory Play, Story Time, Art and Craft, etc.

Kindergarten 1 (KG1): Age Requirement: 4 Years Old

KG1 builds on the foundation laid in the Playgroup stage, focusing on further developing cognitive, social and motor skills. The curriculum becomes slightly more structured, incorporating more guided activities alongside free play. Key areas of focus include Early Literacy, Numeracy, Social Skills, and Physical Development.

Kindergarten 2 (KG2): Age Requirement: 5 Years Old

KG2 prepares children for the transition to primary school. The curriculum in this stage is more advanced, with a greater emphasis on academic readiness. Our team and students work well in groups. Solutions harnessed are results of our teaming with one another collaboratively against common challenges that individual suggestions could not have solved.
